The dark night wrapped around Nikolas light a cloak, hiding him from prying eyes. He walked silently, his hands covered by the black gloves, top hat pulled down to cover his face. His coat flapped in the small wind and his knee length boots brushed the undergrowth aside. His slit pupil, green eyes glanced around him, taking everything in. It was quiet, not a soul around. Perfect. Nikolas raised his arms calling with his mind for Salizar, the long dead master villian that Nikolas practically worshipped. Soon a pale, transluctant figure was standing in front of him, cloak also flapping in the wind. Nikolas smiled, cruel, evil glinting in his eyes. This is what he loved. The night was just beginning, they had all the time they wanted to torment the people around them. Now to find someone alone...

Gracey skipped towards the forest. It was time to talk to her spirit friends. Her long silver hair was in high pigtails, and her grey eyes sparkled in the moonlight. Her pale skin glowed as she aproached Nikolas and the spirit. "Are you talking to your spirit friend?" Gracey asked. She smiled and summoned Lucy, a thirteen year old spirit she often talked too. Lucy looked over at Salizar. "Gracey, you are not safe here." Lucy spoke quietly. "Sure I am!" Gracey said joyfully.

"What is this? A young girl, by herself in the forest? I think you would do well to listen to your spirit friend, little one, but my, it is too late now," Nikolas said with a sadistic laugh. "Come, Salizar, we have some work to do," he said with a wave to the spirit beside him. His eyes were cold and cruel, the world around him all a joke. The spirit let out a laugh, like nails on chalkboards. They moved towards the young one, taking one slow step at a time, giving the girl plenty of time to run, yet knowing full well that she would not. She was too young, she did not know any better to listen to her spirit friend.

Gracey tiled her head in confusion. She could see that they were feeling things of evil, but she didnt understand. Gracey looked at Lucy. "It is not safe. I must go, but I can't leave you." Lucy said, terrified. "What are you talking about?" Gracey asked in confusion. "They are not nice people." Lucy said with authority. Realization hit Gracey, but it was too late..

Abby slumped her back at the large oak tree where she had been crying. "They're stupid anyway! Nobody wants to be around me, so why would they care if I end up getting myself killed in the forest?" she muttered, her face stained with tears. She slowly got up and kicked the tree in fury. "OWWW! OWW! OWWW" she yelled, looking down at her purple toes. She was bare footed, as always. Being out in the night did not frighten Abby, she just didn't prefer it. Abby noticed two dark figures up ahead. "Uhhh ohh"

"What is this? Why, it is our lucky night, my friend! I feel another nearby, a Day by the feel of it. Oh, how shall we handle this, my friend? Take them both at once, hold one while tormenting the other? Oh, the choices. "Yes, that is right, little spirit. Run, run and leave the little one with me. I promise to take care of her. She will be....physically safe. Now mentally, I cannot guarenttee that. She will get home, I promise you that. Now, run, little spirit, run and let the older children have their fun," Nikolas said in his sadistic voice, humor always showing up, humor that none but him would understand.

Lucy shivered with fear. She couldn't leave the little one alone, but she really had no choice. "I must leave Gracey." And lucy dissapeared. Gracey looked up, her grey eyes filled with fear. She took a step back....

Abby felt a lump in her stomach and her short, bleach blonde hair glistened in the moonlight. "I have a bad feeling about this...." She sprinted, as fast as she possibly could, using the wind to make her faster. She was aware that it was all her fault that she was in trouble....

"You cannot escape me, little one! Salizar! Find her! Stop her! I'll make sure this one doesn't leave," Nikolas said quickly. Salizar smiled happily and disappeared, a moment later he appeared in Abby's path, blocking her way forward. "Back you go, little one," he hissed quietly. Nikolas smiled and faced Gracey. "You will escape me not, little one. Your spirit friend has deserted you, you are all alone, at night, with me," he hissed, just as quietly as his spirit friend.

Abby surrounded herself with a tornado of air and stopped dead in her tracks. Your such an idiot, she told herself. You and your stupid emotions. Had to go out, didn't you? Had to place yourself in danger, didn't you? Just wanted a friend, huh? Yeah right, nobody will ever love you! Nobody would ever care enough to save you! You're a worthless little girl! Tears formed into her eyes as she accused herself. "Kill me! Just kill me! Nobody cares anyways! I'll never be worth it! Kill me now!" she told the spirit, closing her eyes and preparing for death. Her tornado stopped, and she fell to the ground.

"Oh, we're not going to kill you, little one, for that would be no fun. Now why don't you be a good girl and come back over here? That way I can see you both at the same time! Wouldn't that be nice?" Nikolas said sweetly. Salizar smiled cruelly, his ravor sharp claws hanging inches before Abby's face. Nikolas could feel the fear rolling off the girls, he reveled in it, enjoying his success. Now to bring it farther, to bring as much fear as possible from these two little ones.

Abby reluctantly followed, fearing for her life. She was so afraid, so scared. "Why are you doing this?" Her voice was nothing more than a whisper, for that was all she could find. Terror lurched in her heart and all hope was lost. "You're a monster..."

Gracey wanted to run, but she knew she couldn't... She closed her moist grey eyes and tried to summon the scaries spirit she could. A large blurred spirit appeared. "I am Luther." A deep voice said. "Help?" Gracey begged quietly...

"Disperse, Luther, you are not needed," Nikolas said, sending the blurred spirit back to his grave. Nikolas loved the fear he felt from the two, but he wanted more, he wanted much more. He called up the spirits of his long dead parents, pulling the images of the their last night from his mind. He remembered the heat of the fire, the pain he felt when his hands caught fire, the pain he felt as he tried to escape the burning mansion. He called it all back and implanted it into the air around him. It grew hot, the fire could be heard in his mind. He smiled, knowing the girls felt as if they were in the fire and did not know it was all a trick of the mind that he had figured out long ago. They felt as if they were in the fire, felt all that he did, the pain, the fear... Oh the glorious fear that rolled off of them. He breathed in deeply, loving the stench of their fear. Knowing it could get much heavier excited him. He lived on their fear, wanting it, needing it.
