Saryah smiled quietly to herself and splashed the water on her baggy t-shirt and ripped jeans. She had a large gash on her arm and it was throbbing with pain. She had been attacked by a demon and barely gotten away alive. Luckily, water comes with healing. She motioned for the water to move up to her arm and clean the wound. It did so. She smiled. The gash was gone and the pain with it. She glanced around the clearing. She was alone. Close call, she thought. Then her thoughts slid to when she was a small girl, six years old, sitting at a table full of grown ups. She would make the funniest little jokes! Oh how she missed joking around with her parents! She missed making them smile just before they got to work. She missed it all. Stop that, she scolded herself. You're a grown up now!

"Why ever are you sitting here all alone, Saryah? Is something the matter, little one?" Damien said as he came to sit beside her. The water around him sparked at his presence, proof of his living as a lightning elemental. He smiled at Saryah, bright and happy as the day was around them.

"No, nothing's wrong! And how many times have I told you not to call me little?!" Saryah smiled, bright and happy. She threw a large wave of of water onto Damien. She forgot her worries and planned her next attack on Damien. "Hahahaaahhha" she laughed at full volume.

"I'm sorry, I forget sometimes. You will forgive me, will you not?" Damien said with a smile, luaghing as he threw a small jolt of lighting towards her, not enough to harm, but enough to give a small shock. He laughed as water ran down his back, soaking his shirt.

"Not that easily!" Saryah kept splashing him and coming up with jokes.

"Well then I must try harder!" Damien said with a huge smile. He loved their play fights, water against lightning, elemental against elemental. He never sent enough electricity into Saryah to hurt her, but he did give her some pretty good shocks. He sent bolts in from all sides, dodging and dashing all over the clearing to avoid her water jets, stopping some jets with bolts of his own.

"Ouch! You're gonna pay for that one!" She pushed him into the stream and smiled. "Take----" her voice died down and turned into a scream. "Damien! Run!" The demon that had attacked her was standing right in front of her, a shadowy figure with blood red eyes.

"What the heck? Where did that come from? Saryah, stay back!" Damien said. He stood in front of her protectively, electricity running across his hands, jumping across the gap, sparks flying.

Saryah stood beside him, becoming one with the water. She was ready to fight the evil demon. The demon spit out poisen, but she dodged just in time.

Damien threw bolt after bolt of lightning at the beast. It didn't seem to even faze it. What was wrong with this thing? Why was it here in the middle of the day?

Saryah spoke low and clear. The water surrounded her like a cape and she said, "Go." And the demon went. She walked to her tent and lay down.

Damien looked after the demom, then after Saryah, in confusion. What the heck had just happened there? He shook his head and went back to his tent. He'd think about it later.
