Personality: During the day, he's a civilized gentlemen. Kind to children, wise in the ways of teaching and learning, and quite the ladies man. He keeps to himself most of the time though, and will get violent if necessary. He has no tolerance for villains, and has played hero on more than one occasion. He considers himself a knight, even if he's never been recognized by a king. He fears the darkness, but will never let it win. He can be quite the joker sometimes, and will never let an opportunity for a good joke pass. He often feels like the big brother of the small group of children he watches over, and never like there father. He finds joy in meditating, and has never hurt an innocent soul.
After dark is when things get fun...
Ever since his true love was killed by the darkness, he loses his sanity when it gets dark. As soon as the sun cannot be seen on the horizon, madness over takes Raphael turning him into a deranged demon known to some as Seven Aces. Seven Aces is a shattered man, with nothing in his life. He finds joy in only making people as sad as he is. He'll often play with people's emotions and play sadistic games with them only to bring greater torment to them. Some say not even heck would take him. Only people who have seen Raphael go mad would ever suspect that Raphael and Seven Aces are the same being.
Likes: Raphael loves a good love story, and sometimes meddles in other's peoples stories. He likes resting, and good vibes. He hates being in the dark, and never feels safe unless he knows what's around him.
Dislikes: The dark. He's aware of his "transformation" at night, and is horribly afraid of it.
History: He was born to a nice family in England. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, with more wealth than any boy needed. Sadly, when he was no more than two years old, his parents were horribly murdered. Death by bombing. Someone had become horribly jealous of them, and said that all there wealth belonged to him. So, strapping a bomb to an arrow, he shot it at Raphael's father, the arrow went through his head, exploded and killed Raphael's Mother also. Being orphaned, with crooked lawyers, backstabbing colleges, and horrible tax collectors, Raphael had no money either. Being sent to an orphanage, he was raised by a kind old man that taught him the values of a gentlemen. As he grew up children came, and children went. He seemed to be the only one that stayed. For years it stayed like that, and eventually like it comes to all old people, the old caretaker of the kids eventually died. Raphael was fifteen by then, and was now legal guardian of the kids. Not legally, it just kind of happened that way. So, after a year of being on the streets of England, Raphael decided they were going to leave that city, and go find a new and better life somewhere else. So, packing up the few things that they had come to possess, they set out, to find there new lives. They traveled for several months, going on the money Raphael had saved from his various odd jobs. Though, at times they did have to beg, and steal some would call it. It was all for their survival of children, so it was justified in Raphael's mind. They soon found there way deep into the European continent. Passing through France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and countless other countries, cities, and places. Now, Raphael was seventeen. And, with all seventeen-year-olds, he soon found himself in love. She was a beautiful girl, sixteen, chocolate brown hair, beautiful hazel eyes, and a wonderfully cute nose. She was the definition of a fairy tale princess. She was beautiful, and Raphael fell madly in love with her. And, she fell in love with him. It was a match made in heaven, but soon they like before, Raphael had to travel again. Things weren't working out in Rome. He asked her to marry him, she knew that by saying yes she would agree to travel with him through the good times and bad, and she said yes with a giant smile and a huge hug. So, once again they traveled, traveling the cities, but now he had a wonderful bride to accompany him, and a mother for the little band of orphans that traveled with him. Though, traveling was still a bit of a challenge. They had troubles, and food was sometimes a struggle. But, they made it through happily. It was a cold winter night, they had found a nice snuggly place under a bridge to sleep. It was Halloween, the night when all evil walks the earth. Raphael hated being out at night, and it being Halloween made it even worse. That bridge, unknown to Raphael, had been the place of many a suicides, and the screaming spirits were wanting revenge for the horrible lives they lived which made them want to kill themselves. The horrible spirits soon realized the living were near. Gathering around, the biggest of them, a giant, twisted, misshapen, ugly demon. With claws covered in dried blood. It had hatred in it's eyes, and was thirsty for blood that wasn't crusted onto it's daggers of hands. It eyed the small group of travelers, and lunged forward. A scream was heard, and Raphael's wife, had four long, twisted claws going through her. Raphael had bolted up, pale, all blood drained from his face. He saw his beloved princess, dangling above the ground, by the claws of a hideous monster. There was a bright flash, brighter than the sun at noon day, a horrible blood curdling screech sounded, as if a thousand chalkboards were being scratched. The demons fled, those that could, others were burned and sent back to the fiery abyss they had come from. The children had awoken, wondering what had happened. They saw Raphael, holding his wife, bleeding to death, with nothing Raphael could do. For the rest of the night, no wind blew, no light showed, no birds sang, no spirits wandered, not a soul stirred. All that could be heard was the silent sobs of Raphael, and his children. They buried her there, the light had seared the earth, and all demons had been cleansed. It was now a safe place for the dead, and flowers could be seen blooming around her grave. Raphael used the last of his money, and had a beautiful grave stone made for his darling wife. For a whole day, the little group sat around the grave. Mourning the loss of a wife, mother, and princess. Raphael saw his wife one last time that day, she appeared standing on her grave, in a beautiful white dress. She knelt down next to her husband, and kissed him on his cheek. She wiped the tears from his eye, and kissed him on his lips. She said for them to return to there journey, to find a home. She would be safe here, but told him not to forget her, and to make sure she is moved to where they are when they do find a permanent home. He smiled a weak smile, kissed her one last time, a long passionate kiss, and her spirit slowly disappeared. Raphael left after that, once again on his journey. He had a force directing him now, telling him where to turn, where to travel. They soon found themselves walking out in the wilderness. They walked through trees, but now things never seemed to get that dark, a light always seemed to emanate from Raphael. He learned from walking in the forest that light seemed to want to do what he wanted it to. After several days of wondering, completely lost by now, they came upon a small village. He soon learned it was the Tribe of day. He was welcomed, and finally found a place he could call home. After a month of living there, he went back for his wife, and lovingly built her a new grave, a nice one, with flowers, and everything. But, because his orphans were not elementals,so he sadly had to leave them before he returned to his tribe. They were getting grown up anyway, and should looking for a life of there own. So, one by one, he said his goodbyes to them, and let them go in various cities of the world. He made sure they had a good place to live, and a good future ahead of them. Raphael even today will sometimes go out, and visit one of his children just to see how they are doing. All have grown up nicely, and have wonderful families of their own. This is the history of Raphael, so far.......
