Abby looked around the camp. "Nobody would want to talk to me anyways," she sighed. Everybody acted like she wasn't even alive because of her rebelious attitude. Nobody wanted to be around her. So Abby turned around and went back to where she always spent her days, messing around with her air powers, in a small clearing close to camp. She sat, hidden by the tall plant growth, and made a little wind tornado, barely big enough to see. It became larger and larger until Abby was hidden inside of it, swirling around her to full volume. It swallowed her inside of it, a tornado of clear air. She looked like a princess inside of it, even with her horridly muddy t-shirt and ripped jeans. It was Nickolas' fault that she looked like this, that sadistic jerk.

Naprilla was walking in the woods near camp, thinking.A girl...I think. She thought to herself. The wind always carried images of where it had been, what it had touched. She walked in the girl's direction, seeping in the quiet as she walked.Naprilla stopped at a clearing and looked around to find a girl incircled in wind.

Abby let the wind go, and she fell to the ground. She saw Naprilla standing just a few yards away, once again, much prettier than her. She scowled at her muddy, tattered, dirty self and got up. "Hello, Naprilla. Let me guess, you don't want to talk to me?" she said, unhappy. She felt so hollow and lonely inside, like the deep, dark pit of her life was growing inside of her. Stop that, she told herself. You have this whole tribe! You have a family, even if they act like you don't exist! You're fifteen, stop acting like a five year old!

Naprilla stared at Abby for a short moment. "Well if your in such a bad mood, I think I should not."She said quietly. At the moment company seemed nice. Well, company that didn't seem to want to bite her head off. Then again if she stayed maybe she could calm Abby's nerves. Naprilla walked over to Abby."Lovely day isn't it?" She said trying to start a conversation.

"I guess," Abby replied, wondering why Naprilla actually wanted to talk to her. This might be my only chance! she told herself. I could actually make a friend, even if this friend is better than me! She decided she would be nice and actually try to get along with her. "So what have you been up to?" she questioned. Friend, oh how she longed to use that word. Friend, oh how she longed to have one.

Naprilla sat down. "I have always wanted to ask you why you keep such a foul mood all the time." Naprilla said trying to keep a calm composer. People always made her feel uneasy. Especially the seemingly angry ones. Abby usually acted sour, but Naprilla had learned to try and find the good in people. Yes, even the sour ones. Naprilla tucked some stray hairs behind her ear. She sighed.Naprilla had sighed more than usual that day which had started to worry her. She looked up at Abby.

"Ummm... Well.... Uhhhhh," Abby sighed and looked away from Naprilla. Nobody had ever asked her that question. "It's personal." If Naprilla pressed hard enough, maybe, just maybe Abby would tell her. The wound in her heart opened up for the second time that day and made her want to cry. This was a touchy subject.

Naprilla looked at Abby. "Well, I'm very sorry for prying." She said sounding sad to herself. "I...Abby...how old...are you?" She asked thinking, I must sound terribly rude to forget such a thing as a friends age. Naprilla started looking around, distracted by the wind's words.

"Fifteen, why? And don't be sorry. You have a right to ask. Maybe one day I'll tell you," she said, her voice quieting down. Maybe one day when I can think about it without the tears, she added in her thoughts. She wondered why Naprilla looked so sad. "Forgive me for asking, but why are you so sad?"

Naprilla returned to Abby. "I can't really concentrate with the wind telling me so many things I need not know." She said shaking her head. "I can hear it's thoughts...I think. Well, it's more like see I guess. But it's very distracting and bothersome." She said with a sigh. "I try to make the wind hush but it just gets louder." She said sighing again. So far I have had a seemingly normal conversation...hopefully. She thought to herself.

"That's cool. I wish I could hear the wind. Your powers must be very strong," sighed Abby. Naprilla was so good at controlling her powers, nothing like me, she thought. She swirled the wind around her without even noticing she was doing it.

Naprilla looked around again as an animal scurried by. "You would want to be rid of it if you had it." She said chuckling."We may be in the opposite predicaments.I wish people would stay away and you, I presume, wish people would come. But life just does not work that way." Naprilla said in a quiet voice. Her head throbbed from all the images currently racing through her mind.

"Well... Oposites attract.... Isn't that what they say?" Abby laughed, feeling light and good. She felt whole[I/]. She felt... alive. For once in her life, the pit was gone. And then she started laughing. She laughed like she could never stop, gigling so hard she nearly cried. What was so funny? She merely did not know.

Naprilla stared at the laughing Abby and then started laughing with her. Naprilla couldn't remember when the last time she had had a conversation much less laughed. The laughs filled her insides and made her feel like she was at home there. Home. She had not thought of anywhere as home in a very long time.

"Hahaha! I don't even know why I'm laughing!" Abby joked. She could barely get the words out when the giggles returned. She rolled onto her side, still laughing. "We must look really stupid!" She continued to laugh and sat upright. The laughter died down and she started to look serious. "T-thank you. You made my real laughter come back. I mean, I was laughing the other night, but it was just a coverup for the real pain I was feeling. I can tell you what happened if you, well, want to hear it."
